The first of the spin-off Dark Justice League comic book series, which were being introduced after the Justice League movie was released was the Justice League Dark, based on the old DC Comics series Justice League Dark. It tells the story of the Justice League Dark, a group of criminals who have been taken away into the services of Darkseid's Apokolips in an effort to reform them and turn them into heroes.
The movie had some incredible visuals and the story was phenomenal. I was excited to see it and I thought that this spin-off series would do just as well, if not better than the movie. But the difference is that I can't say that the movie was as good as I expected it to be, so I was a little disappointed with the story and characters of the Justice League Dark.
The concept of the Justice League Dark has been adapted quite well into the comic series that I have read, but it did have its flaws as well. The first problem is that there are too many characters in the Justice League Dark. They're names are Ethan, John Constantine, Daimon Hellstrom, Kabrak, Sinestro, Diablo, Trigon, Mageddon, Death and Kaecilius. You get all these characters and their histories in less than a minute, which made it quite boring and repetitive.
The second problem is that the movie had very little connection with the main plot of the comic and they just mixed up the continuity to some extent. This is not surprising, since the director of the movie wasn't really a fan of comics, but to make up for that, he was able to adapt the story line into the story line that the movie he had in mind.
It is still amazing how well some movies are able to blend the story lines and the cast into one cohesive story. The only thing I am looking forward to is the next movie because I am not sure if I will like it or not, though I am sure it will be awesome. The story line will be interesting for sure.
The Justice League Dark spin-off also suffers from poor continuity and character development. The characters' personalities were not as great as the main Justice League Dark, which disappointed me and I really don't care much about them.
It looks like the Justice League Dark spin-off will have its fair share of admirers and it is not expected to disappoint anyone, even though I was expecting better. The final verdict is that the Justice League Dark didn't live up to the expectations and I think that it would be wiser to wait for the second movie, Justice League Dark: Rise of the Demon Lord, because it will be more satisfying and enjoyable.
Hopefully, the show will continue to be entertaining and will find a new audience and would recommend you to check it out. Otherwise, it is really a waste of time and money.
