Dragonheart: Vengeance is a fantasy adventure movie starring Daniel Craig as the title character. It was produced by Dragonheart, a production company based in Los Angeles, California. It is the first in a new series called the Saga of the Dragonheart films. In the film, a scholar named Orin (Daniel Craig) works for a rather mysterious organization and finds himself involved in a quest that could change his life forever.
The movie starts off with some basic scenes that reveal what the story entails. The story involves a young man named Greyone (Michael McKean), who works in the secret government organization called the Dragonheart, and also a mysterious woman named Thean (Beverly Knight). Together, they are called the Saga of the Dragonheart films, since their original creators (Dragonsheart director Andy Dick and screenwriter Dan Haggerty) would have wanted to continue this saga with other movies, instead of just sticking to one movie after another.
As you might guess, Thean is in love with Greyone and the two are working together to protect him from the party plays and danger that he is in. However, once Thean gets some information about this girl's history, she begins to suspect him and begins to plan her own plans. At the same time, Greyone makes a great discovery about the situation of the party plays and needs to get back to Thean.
The battle between Greyone and Thean will take place in different parts of the world and will involve at least four major events: the death of Princess Liria (Mia Wasikowska), the quest for an amulet and the freeing of the last dragon slayer named Trevor (Eddie Kaye), the finding of a dragon egg and the capture of the top party plays maker, Atoni (Aidan Turner). To make things complicated, Greyone and Thean are also fighting for the lives of the princess and her alien captors.
With this impressive cast, including Michael Fassbender, Sean Bean, Alan Rickman, Owen Wilson, Hayley Atwell, Colin Farrell, and Corin Nemec, the movie has a good chance of being among the best-selling movies of all time. The other new additions to the cast include Lee Pace, Ewen Bremner, Sean Young, and Gemma Arterton.
Overall, the movie was directed very well and it has a great set of action sequences that were filmed. However, the acting was not very good. There were some instances where the actors would completely act out something that was not exactly clear, so it can get a bit confusing at times. This is one of the reasons why the movie is not very popular among people who are only fans of the franchise.
Despite the bad acting, the movie is definitely worth checking out. Fans of the D&D franchise will definitely enjoy this film, especially if they are fans of the D&D movies of the past.
Overall, this is another installment in the Saga of the Dragonheart series. The movie did not deliver as good as the previous films, but overall, it was a decent film with some great action sequences.
